Street Net Youth Service

Street Net Youth Service has been operating in the Peel Region since February 1999, providing support, information and referral to ‘at risk’ young people.

Street Net supports young people with a variety of issues including accommodation difficulties, family conflict and violence, drug and alcohol issues, truancy, offending and anti-social behaviour, education, employment and health. The service is involved in running a number of programs aimed at increasing participation of 'at risk' youth in the community including: ‘Hooked on Fishing’ Youth Maritime Program, Blue Light events, Mystery Tour, Young Women’s Program, as well as community and school lectures.

Its vision is that young people have a sense of connectedness and belonging to their community. Street Net staff work hard to achieve this vision and align strongly with the Mission Statement of the organisation: To support and empower young people to increase their resilience and wellbeing by assisting them to access positive opportunities.

Street Net Youth Service is an effective service for the young people of the Peel but more importantly after 16 years of operation it is also tried, tested and continuing to be current.
